The Perinatal Research Center of The Women’s Health Research and Education Foundation was established in 1995 to continue the vital research needed to stop early delivery. This Center is set up to continue the research activities initiated by Dr. Stephen J. Fortunato in the mid 1980's to study the causes of prematurity and strategies for its prevention.

The Center is based in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee and is equipped to conduct extensive research based on molecular biology techniques. The Center has attracted international attention and physicians from many parts of the world are trained at the center.

The Center functions at The Women’s Hospital @ the Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN
